Lenovo announced on January 18, 2011 that the company plans to establish a new unit for mobile Internet and digital home device business, according to the Wall Street Journal. Dubbed Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group, the new unit is reported to be responsible for producing tablet PCs, Smartphones, and devices for cloud computing and smart TVs.

In related news, Lenovo released its first tablet PC LePad in China in early January 2011. Lenovo said that the company plans to rename and then introduce the new tablet PC in the United States in late summer this year, according to the same source.
